Overview of lighting types and their uses

There are currently many different types of lighting used. From the lights we use at home to all the lights we see as we walk through the city. Below are a summary of the many different types, their role and how they are used.

Lamp

Luminaires are often referred to as lamps [table lamps, floor lamps, table lamps] or lamps. A luminaire is a device that uses a light to direct illumination and may include portable devices such as floors and desk lamps. They can also be permanently mounted on ceilings and walls.

The use of light in buildings, called architectural lighting, is important for everyday activities. In addition to providing visual illumination, architectural lighting can also invite visitors to persuade shoppers to buy, relax hotel guests or restaurant customers, and create almost any effect or mood.

Daylighting uses ideal window and skylight layouts, and uses lighting controls that monitor available sunlight and respond as needed, reducing the need for lights.

industry

Industry is used in factories, power plants, quarries, etc., and is often used to illuminate large areas of light. In this case, LED lighting is often used.

Business is used in businesses such as offices and stores. Commercial lighting can involve building, outdoor, security lighting, and the like.

Residential

Residential lighting affects almost everyone and is often overlooked in design. Effective residential lighting will provide sufficient lighting for performing housework tasks, comfortable and easy to control.

Institutions are used in and around hospitals, schools, and public buildings and are often dedicated to specific tasks and uses. For example, hospitals require specialized operating rooms, laboratories, wards, and other regional systems.

Transportation refers not only to the headlights on the vehicle. This includes lighting of the entire road system and vehicle lighting [headlights, interior lighting, instrumentation], road lighting systems [street lights] and road signals [including traffic signals, lane markings, crosswalk indicators, etc.].

outdoor

Outdoor is a generic term that can include residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, transportation, and other uses. Outdoor lighting applications can be designed to illuminate a particular area, such as a football field, or it can be designed to attract the attention of a customer, such as a store sign. Effective outdoor options will work without pollution.
