Furniture manufacturer: different types of leather

Leather is one of the oldest activities in human civilization when people use leather to make complex objects such as gloves, armor and footwear. Over time, the industry has brought new technological advances that have made tannery and finishing hygiene, environmentally friendly and efficient production of different quality leathers.

The quality of the leather depends not only on the processing technology used, but also on the variety of the animal, the climate in which the animal lives, and the layer of leather used. Before choosing a leather for your lounge suite, you need to be familiar with the different types of leather.

• Full grain leather

This type of leather comes from the top layer of leather, making it the highest quality leather. It retains the original flaws and toughness because it does not split or surface changes and is therefore suitable for the saddle back. Due to its strength and durability, it is still a popular choice, making it the most expensive option. It is the most natural form of leather because it is formed by removing the hair from the leather skin. Full grain leather is immersed in a clear color and evenly colored, but it retains its natural appearance.

• top leather

Top leather is obtained from the outer layer of leather, but unlike full grain leather, all defects are eliminated by sanding the surface. It is painted with artificial texture and is covered by flaws, scars and abrasions to make it flawless. The top leather is smooth and elastic, with a dyed or pigmented finish that gives it a glamorous look. It ranks second after full grain leather because it is strong but not durable. It is used to make advanced products such as lounges.

• Fixed texture/leather

The modified textured leather is made from the remaining skin layer after the top is separated, the surface of which is sprayed and embossed with a leather-like pattern to provide a natural look. Its processing changes the breathability of the leather because of the polishing used to correct scratches on the particles.

Premium leather is very expensive because it is durable and provides you with long-term service. Furniture manufacturers use a variety of types of leather that have a unique look, feel and different uses. You can choose the product that best suits your needs.
