MOSAIC Method - Online Threat Assessment Tool for Victims of Domestic Violence

When I was a policeman, I found an effective tool to combat domestic violence. The threat assessment is used by almost every government entity of the US Marshals for the Court Justice. It is written by security expert Gavin De Becker and writer from

. Debeck said that violent crime is often predictable, preventable, and known to women, and a new threat assessment tool called MOSAIC has been developed. MOSAIC helps determine the extent to which abused women are killed by intimate partners. It is free and open to the public. The use of risk assessments requires a weighted score and explanation after completion of the training. Risk assessments are available in multiple languages.

According to the website, risk assessment is a free online assessment that works by "decomposing factors by factors, like puzzles, and then seeing what happens when you put them together. MASAIC helps evaluate The staff weighs the current situation based on expert opinions and research, and immediately compares the status quo with past cases of known situations."

MOSAIC can assess several types of situations: domestic violence [by men or women], workplace violence, student threats, threats to public figures, or threats to judicial personnel. Domestic violence assessments are the only assessments available to the public; other assessments limit access.

MOSAIC's domestic violence assessment is easy to use. Simply log in to the site and answer 48 questions, which takes about 30 minutes. According to the answer, MOSAIC assesses the likelihood of escalating violence and rates the threat to 1 to 10 points, 10 of which are the greatest likelihood of violence. The site is very secure and there are many tips on how to protect your information security and privacy.

In the case of a bit of abuse, I highly recommend using this tool to assess the likelihood of violence. Too many people are victims of relationship violence because they deny or don't understand the possibility of serious harm. MOSAIC can help portray larger pictures, which may provide a wake-up call to save your life or the lives of the people you love.

If you or someone you love needs help, please contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline [www.ndvh.org] or call 1-800-799-SAFE [7233].
