Queen of Africa - a short story

Udumi was born into a merchant family in a small village in the south of the country. Her childhood was very enjoyable, playing with other children in the village, taking care of her family's various farm animals. She had 12 brothers and sisters at the time, and they usually had big families.

But they always say that Udumi, you are a smart person; what you must do for your own life.

As she grew older, she entered the local school in the village and began to interest in playing the violin. Her tunes have become very popular and she is often invited to participate in country weddings and other important events. Udumi's violin soon became famous in the area, and she was often summoned at a special ceremony for state administrative officials. At the home of the adjoining village.

One day, they came to her father to tell him that the head of state, General Idididi, was going to visit the country and they were holding a grand gathering for him. When he walked into the hall, they wanted Udumi to play the welcome song.

Udumi is very happy that during her 18 years, this is the biggest opportunity to show her skills. Her mother dressed her in yellow and silver, and she wore the precious brooch of her grandmother, who had sent her a gift many years ago to a visiting British missionary.

That night, she sat on the promenade, the lights flashed around her, and then they announced the Lord Idridi, this is her suggestion, she started, her violin sang like never before. The general stopped when he passed, stood there for two minutes, and smoked while he was walking.

She couldn't sleep that night, she was very excited, he had stopped to listen to her.

A few weeks later, the village chief told her father and said that General Idididi sent a message that he wanted to marry the sweet girl who played the violin.

When her father took the information home, they were very happy and Udumi will become the queen.

The next two weeks were a series of events, parties and shopping trips, and finally they left the entourage of the big city.

The wedding is a grand event; the heads of state and government are invited. Udumi is his 13th wife and is said to be an honorary position. Then she was taken to the palace and given a special room on the left wing of the third floor. General Edie came here that night, loved her very much and did things she had never experienced before, but she thought that this must be something the Queen should do. General Edie left in the early hours of the morning and she did not see him next week.

Her life has been pampered, bathed in milk, eating exotic fruits and vegetables. And meat, she has never seen such a delicious dish. Every Sunday, the palace will come down and there will be a market in the palace. The ground is full of stalls in the town, and the Queen will pick any carpet. Udumi chose some dresses and a strong axe, and she asked to send it home. They also sent three bushels of grain and rice.

Months passed, and when she woke up one morning, she felt a little uncomfortable and the court doctor was called. Congratulations to Queen Udi, you are with your child. The palace is full of festivals, because the general will soon have another heir. That winter, a son was born in Udine, who named him Edie in the name of his father.

In the next few months, Queen Udine is less and less visited, and she wonders why this is so. They say that you actually gained weight during childbirth, so her weight gain twice should not be the cause. General Edie now has his 20th Queen, and in the market on Sunday, Udumi will see how slim and beautiful the new Queen is.

But as time went on, she never received any visits from the generals, and she began to get angry. How dare she let her shut up in the palace, never allowed her to kneel in the city, never visit her at night, and soon the gift stopped. Her violin strings need to be repaired, but no one is bothered. She was very angry that day because she could no longer endure any violation of all the rules, but went directly to his private residence to bring it up once and for all.

The fireworks and fireworks that day will tell the story to Queens in the future.

But as far as Udumi is concerned, she found that the ears in the fridge were really cold.

- End -
