How can I extend my eBay US business internally?

This is a very large world with more than 193 recognized countries. If you add all the dozens of colonies and territories controlled by other countries, this number has grown rapidly to more than 200 countries around the world. For eBay sellers who want to expand their internals, many of them are concerned that customs regulations and regulations vary from country to country. How can an eBay seller be proficient in customs regulations in each country? The answer is that you can't. So what do eBay sellers do to avoid pushing this product by pushing your product to the global market? Slow and methodical international expansion is a way to make customs rules a buyer's responsibility.

The first stage of the international expansion of American sellers

The first step in this process is to change the shipping policy page for your listing. A nice feature that eBay offers is that you can choose the specific country where you want to start service internally. But which country should you choose? The USPS currently provides a service internally called the International Level One package. USPS increased the postage rate for this service level and, in some cases, doubled the rate. However, it allows new eBay International customers to ship 4 ounces of packaging internally and receive shipping confirmation scans in selected countries. These are the first countries you started for the new eBay International Business.

Activate the following countries:

Canada Australia UK

Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland

Belgium, New Zealand, Sweden

Spain, Ireland, Finland

France Portugal Brazil

Insurance

If you are using an order management system such as Shipstation or Shipworks, they will allow you to purchase insurance for these packages. This will alleviate your concerns about potential fraud and lost packages.

Shipping policy

Be sure to adjust the shipping policy page to reflect the fact that you are currently serving the above mentioned countries. Be sure to choose the correct shipping service and mention that you have not provided a combined shipping service on an international order. In addition, please ensure that it is the buyer's responsibility to indicate that it is prohibited to enter the goods in your country. The seller is not responsible for prohibitions, restrictions or items that are prohibited from entering by your customs agency. If you have questions about immigration restrictions, please contact your local customs agency. Tariffs and taxes based on the assessment of the goods are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Addressing tag system

When expanding into the international market, you want to use an address management system that grows with your business. I always recommend using Endicia.com. Endicia allows you to take advantage of the commercial base pricing of domestic parcels and allows you to generate the first type of packaging label that meets international standards. This will become an important function as the business grows.

Measure your success

Track the number of packages you ship internationally every day. The main statistics you want to measure are as follows:

1] What is the international order quantity?

2] Percentage of lost packages associated with international orders?

3] Percentage of fraudulent orders?

4] How does this compare to your US business?

5] Which country do you receive the most orders from?

Phase 2 for the international expansion of eBay US sellers [more than 20 parcels sent overseas each day]

So you have entered the first phase of international expansion and you have seen some real success in expanding your business. As a seller, you know that if you can lower international postage, you will be able to further expand your business. How did you do this? You contact the USPS Post Qualified Wholesaler. To find and contact a postal qualified wholesaler, you will need to contact your Global Account Manager and USPS.

Ok, so you found a USPS postal qualified wholesaler and want to know which USPS Bulk international mail program you should choose? Each eBay seller will answer this question in a different way. In most cases, you have two options, as follows:

USPS International Priority Air Mail

This is a USPS Level 1 international mail service provided by the Postal Qualified Wholesaler [PQW] to more than 200 countries around the world. In essence, USPS has outsourced sorting, transportation and preparation in the US to international distribution. PQW will send your mail to the USPS International Sorting Center [ISC] and be ready to depart on the next flight. Since USPS receives a dismissed email, your package will not be scanned in the acceptance facility and will not receive a shipping confirmation scan in the destination country. The benefit of this service is that in many cases your postage rate will be cut in half. You will be able to upload the same tracking number to eBay, but they will not scan for delivery. Now, this is where your statistics come in handy. If you experience a high percentage of loss in Phase 1 testing, this service is not for you. However, if you are experiencing a percentage of consignable losses, you may need to test this service to optimize your postal savings and increase the number of international orders received. If you think you must track these orders, you must use the next service. For more information on international priority airmail, please see my article entitled USPS International Priority Airmail for eCommerce Companies on EzineArticles.com.

USPS Commercial ePacket

This is the USPS Level 1 International Mail Service provided by the Post Qualified Wholesaler [PQW] to only 15 countries around the world. The main difference between Commercial ePacket and International Priority Airmail is that ePacket will have a delivery confirmation number and will be scanned by the receiving post office. The trade-off here is that this service is more expensive than international priority airmail.

Important considerations

When determining the direction you will take in international shipping, you need to make some important considerations

1] Does your business growth exceed the risk of lost packages?

2] How many fraudulent claims do you currently have internally?

3] If your package is lost, is your product sold at a low price and easy to replace?

4] Are you willing to take away a small amount of postage from my insurance to eliminate any risk of loss?
