How to get your student loan forgiveness

Some people say that the only two things that are determined in life are death and taxes. [You may be deceiving death, but you still have to pay taxes.] Then you need to add another thing to this list, which is to repay your student loan.

There are hundreds of ways to get your student loan forgiveness before you are too depressed. If you have found a job, the first step is to contact your company's Human Resources department. They understand many of the relatively unknown programs available. You can also contact your local volunteer organization to see if they have a student loan forgiveness program.

Depending on your degree, you may be eligible to take a different course.

teacher

Teachers can get student loans up to $17,500. It depends on what subjects you will teach [maximum benefits for math and science teachers] and where you agree to teach. Low-income and vulnerable areas will allow for greater discounts.

Volunteer program

VISTA [volunteers serving the US], Peace Corps and Americorps will repay part of the student loan. The amount of the loan repaid depends on the number of hours or years of organization and service delivery.

Here are some contact phone numbers for more information:

o VISTA: 1-800-942-2677

o Peace Corp: 1-800-424-8580

o Americorps: 1-800-942-2677

medical

Medical professionals who agree to work in areas where doctors and nurses are in short supply may also be exempt from student loans.

The Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program [NELRP] will reimburse up to 60% of the student loan balance.

o The National Health Service also has a great plan to reimburse the $35,000 service fee each year.

law enforcement

Some police agencies and cities will help repay your student loans. Please consult your school to determine if the agency you are applying for is eligible to participate in the program.

military

The military offers students some great courses, including the GI Act and the enlistment bonus. The National Guard also offers a student loan exemption program that will repay up to $10,000 in loans.

It's important to remember that getting education can be expensive, but there are many student loan programs that will allow you to pay for college. Most people don't know that there are many programs that allow you to exempt student loans, so you can get your education for free [or at least at a lower rate].
