Whether you're thinking about using grease cosmetics for drama, special Halloween parties or other occasions, you need to know which products and how to apply them.
Although grease makeup requires more time and preparation than a normal water-soluble topcoat, it will last longer. Most importantly, grease cosmetics do not burn or run under heat or conditions that may sweat. With grease makeup, you can create a more dramatic and professional look.
In addition to your grease finishes and pencils, you also need to:
- Facial cleanser or cleanser and/or baby shampoo
- Clean towel or paper towel
- Clothes blouse and hair band or shower cap
- Men's possible razors
- Mirror if you are not working from home
- High quality brush, stucco
- Professional styling powder, talcum powder or baby talcum powder and applicator [see below]

Before you start making up, you need to have your face ready to go smoothly. Thoroughly clean your face, tie your hair when necessary, and shave for men. After the skin is dry, use a very light moisturizer.
First use the lightest color - usually white - and a good quality brush or sponge, or your finger, you can outline the area and fill it. Or you can paint according to the contours of your face. If it is too cold, the oil and fat cosmetics may not work smoothly, you can remedy it by applying a little color to the palm of your hand for one minute. After painting, tap "pat" with your finger. Make up to your skin.
Unlike water-based cosmetics, grease makeup requires you to apply a face and then set it with a professional styling powder, or baby or talcum powder. [If you use talc, be sure to confirm that you have no allergic reactions beforehand.] You can set ' after each application of the color, or at the end of all paintings, make grease makeup in stages. Some people like the latter and apply all the colors before applying the powder because they make it easier to fix the mistakes. The downside is that you may accidentally mix colors and soil your work.
Whether you are in the staged or final stage, a reliable way to apply powder is to partially fill the small, clean cotton tube socks with a powder, fasten it, and then gently apply the face. Allow the powder to stand for about half a minute, then use a powder brush to remove excess powder. The painted area should no longer feel wet or sticky - if not, you may need more powder. Once the grease is combined, it should be quite antifouling. If you need to correct this time, you can use Q-Tips soaked in baby oil, but keep in mind that nearby areas may now get dirty.
Be careful not to apply thick or stratified grease to the face. If you do have too many things in one place, press it with your finger to make it smooth. Continue to use Q-Tips or fine brushes in smaller areas to improve your face. Grease pencils can also be used on the face, charcoal for the eyes, and don't forget the color of the lips!
Let the grease cosmetic dry thoroughly, then apply the last thin layer of powder and wipe off the excess grease with a brush or tissue. A damp cloth at the end can help remove excess powder or spray with a very light mist. In a warm climate, you can skip this step because the extra powder will absorb any sweat.
If you are applying a flash, it should be done at the end. Generally, flashing is most effective when applied on the eyes or on the cheeks. Glitter gel is often used instead of a dry flash to minimize its chance of peeling into the eye. Use a dry flash, first slightly wet your face and cheeks, then ' poof' in polyester flash. Before going out, please remember to let the cosmetics in about half an hour. If your eyelashes are painted with variegated paint, cover them with mascara.
