Fix application error 17235

When using a DVD backup tool such as "InterVideo DVD Copy", "Application Error 17235" appears on the screen and the program encounters a problem requiring an early shutdown. The error message can be resolved by not restarting the computer immediately after installing the tool, or if the computer's DVD drive is not equipped with the latest drivers.

To fix this error,

1. Go back to your computer desktop and press the Start button in the lower left corner of the screen. Click on "Control Panel" and wait until a new window is displayed. Scroll through the control panel and double-click the icon named "Programs and Features."

2. Click the "Name" field under the "Organize" heading to sort the list of all programs installed on your computer's hard drive. Find the name of the software that reported the "Application Error 17235" message. It will be in the list of installed applications. Click the item and then click the Uninstall option at the top of the window.

3. Continue to wait for the uninstallation of the program to complete, then close the Programs and Features window. Put the program that has been deleted from the PC into the installation CD. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the program. Once the installation wizard pops up and asks you to restart your computer, follow the instructions.

4. Now try to use the app again to see if the error message is still displayed. Close the program, then click the Start menu and then click Control Panel. Double-click the Device Manager button. When the operating system opens a new window, click Continue to ask for permission to open the Device Manager list.

5. Find the item displayed as "DVD / CD-ROM" in the menu. Click on the entry to expand the new list of options. Find the name of the DVD drive and right click on it. Click "Update Driver" in the menu that appears. Wait for the current driver installation to complete and restart the system. Open the program that provided the error message and try to use it again.

Because the error is a general error, there is really nothing to solve the problem. But with a little patience and the above solution, you should be able to solve the problem and get back to normal with minimal effort.
