Home (staging) for holidays

Oh, there are no homes like holidays, but during this time, houses often appear in the real estate market. If you want holiday decorations like you used to, you may want to reconsider. According to the essence of the word...decoration... violates the key principles of a good family stage. Remember... from

Family stage is not decoration
from

 .

What are you going to do? Omit the holiday? Well, not exactly, but you have to show a lot of limits. You can still host a family holiday, but there are some guidelines you need to follow:

  • The festive garland on the front door is good, but there are no Christmas lights or wreaths on each window. from

Keep the wreaths in simple green plants and seasonal organic elements such as pine cones and berries.
  • Try a beautiful Christmas lily instead of the typical poinsettia plant at the entrance. from

If your home palette is already red, the red-striped amaryllis can be festive and welcome, but white without failure will also work.
  • The decoration of the main living space should also be limited. from

Think about greens and organs. Show a beautiful staircase with evergreen stolen goods, but skip the Christmas tree this year.
  • If you can't live without flash and sparkle, a few well-placed silver or gold candlesticks on the table may have to be made or purchased with some shiny gadgets to complement your family's palette. from

Once again, don't be taken away. If your palette contains blue, fill a large transparent vase with blue and silver trim. The well-designed display on the mantelpiece will make the beautiful fireplace the star of the room without having to carefully hang any stockings.
  • Limit indoor festive decorations to the entrance passage, main living space and dining table. from

Again, think about your vacation supplements to a minimum. You also hope to save your religious artifacts this year.

According to experience, if you use these guidelines, your home will not feel like a holiday. If you are approved for a family holiday decoration, these suggestions may only annoy you. But you do have the option.

If you have already listed a house, ask the real estate agent to remove the house from the market until one year later. Many real estate agents will only agree/extension the contract. Also, please do not list your home with a real estate agent before January 1. Decorate until your heart is satisfied and enjoy the last holiday blowout in your home.

Whether you refuse to accept a "restrictive holiday decoration," make sure to take a photo of your property before adding any festive decorations. There is nothing like seeing the "old list" of photos of the living room with a Christmas tree in mid-January.

Pay special attention to builders and investors who specialize in real estate: refuse to call your Home Stager and ask for the urge to add festive decorations. I suspect that any Home Stager will refuse to add holiday decorations, but you may strongly disagree with this request and will have to pay extra for installation, rental and timely removal of the decoration.

The pressure to sell a house is large enough to not complicate holidays that feel wrong. Many real estate agents may disagree with these guidelines, but as Home Staging Professional, I can't recommend them separately. So, as the holidays get closer and you want to be happy in millions of ways, you may just want to wait a little while to promote your family's sweet home.
