After I recently returned from a national trip, I can personally tell you that the recent rise in natural gas prices has led to our budget. We brought it back home with the last $20 bill. Usually we will return it for at least $200.
Another less public thing is that while the government raised the price of gasoline, they also lifted the octane rating. This means that if your car uses 87 octaves, it may not be what you get. You may only get 70 octane gasoline. In other words, you may get less gasoline at a higher price.
Our family lives in the Auto City and now sees a sad trend. For small vehicles that use less gasoline, full-size SUVs are reluctant to trade. Frankly, people can no longer drive these big cars.
Sadly, we all don't have this choice because our car is too old and not worth enough.
We also can't go out and buy a new [or used] car. Do we have other options to help us save on the amount of gasoline we use?
