1. What is a professional coach?
Professional coaches are experts who work with people who want to improve job satisfaction, change jobs or change careers. They are good at interviews and consultations, and have the expertise of complex cognitive processes to determine job choices and how to stay resilient. They are mature individuals, and the most effective coaches themselves have different professional experiences.
Professional coaches will:
- Try to find out your life/work values, your life goals, and find a career that matches you. The closer your work is to these key values, the more happy and satisfied you will be.
- Based on your talents, education, personality and ambitions, you can help you find the right job for you. These can be detected by general discussion, testing and inquiry questions. The best coach is very honest and will tell you what you can pursue and what your limits may be.
- Help you clarify your long-term career goals and assist you in developing an action plan to achieve these goals. This may take multiple sessions to complete.
- Build your job search, help with your application documents, and guide you to perform well in job interviews.
Professional coaches will not:
- Make a decision for you. Studies have shown that individuals' own decisions lead to higher levels of personal satisfaction and motivation for persistence. The goal of the coach is to help you make informed decisions by helping you understand your values, raising awareness of important subconscious factors that may lead to decision-making problems, and helping you identify and increase the barriers you get to a career that fits your life goals.
- Give you ' pep' talk or try to make you believe that you can do anything. Professional coaches are real professionals who will help you fight for the best you can achieve, but don't try to make you a person you are not.
4. What professional tools does the professional coach provide to help me?
Skilled instructors can provide computer-based or quiz-based assessments that categorize your personality style, ideal career choices, and/or work intensity/weakness. The accuracy and relevance of these tools have been studied.
5. How many times do I need to see a professional coach?
On average, customers attend 3-4 meetings, but some find the ongoing coaching relationship very valuable and hope to continue training with their coach for several years. First, the meeting is a weekly meeting of the first month and then changed every two weeks or monthly.
6. What are your expectations for good career guidance?
After accepting the coach, you should have one or more of the following results:
- Enhance self-awareness and direction
- Clear career and job search goals
- Improve professional management skills
- Improve your quality of life in an all-round way
Should I go to see a professional coach?
Maybe. The decisive question here is: Do you know what you want to do and how to get there? If so, then do it yourself. If you are not sure what career direction to take, if you don't know how to get there - talk to the coach and see what they can do for you.
