Over the years, I have written many articles about water filtration, water quality and disinfecting RV water systems. There are many reasons to pay attention to the water we drink, especially when it comes to RV. When you travel in a motorhome and regularly stop at a different destination, you don't know the quality of the water you are using or drinking. It seems that every day you are getting more and more understanding of the water we drink and how it affects our health. I have always been an advocate for filtering filtered water in water, and I have been looking for the best way to filter water.
As early as October, we attended the RVDA conference/exhibition in Las Vegas. Every year, suppliers bring their products to the conference and introduce these new products into the RV industry. There will always be one or two innovative products that draw my attention. This year is Hydropure Technologies' Metal Trap Ultra Dual filtration system.
I have the opportunity to talk to Jerry Rademan, president and scientist/chemist behind the product. Jerry has a real passion for clean drinking water and clean water. He explained to me that the Metal Trap Ultra Dual System is the only filtration system on the market that eliminates or significantly reduces all contaminants in a single system. He said, "Hydro Pure Technologies employees are committed to serving our families and customers. Water is commercial."
Then Jerry challenged me. He said he would send me a Metal Trap Ultra filter system to make me a judge. What he didn't know at the time was that we recently moved into a new house where the drinking water had a smell and taste that made you not want to drink water directly from the tap. If anyone knows if the filtration system is working, it will be my wife and my 13-year-old son, who will keep talking about the water quality in our home.
Shortly after returning from the conference, I received two Metal Trap Ultra Dual water filtration systems. I decided to install a larger 14,000-gallon rated system in our drinking water and a 6,000-gallon rated system on our RV for the water system. Installation is simple, especially RV. The installation in our home requires a quick trip to Lowes to get some extra plumbing fittings that connect to the existing water system.
I really like the Metal Trap Ultra Dual system, which is suitable for both well water and urban water, so it makes a lot of sense for RV applications. It filters out metals such as iron, manganese and copper, and also removes hydrogen sulfide, causing rotten egg flavor in most well water sources. It also filters chlorine, chlorinated organic compounds, which can cause cancer and remove residual drugs, pesticides and herbicides that can enter our city's drinking water.
The metal trap Ultra dual system is used for chemical oxidation, absorption and ion exchange principles to remove and capture these metals and other harmful contaminants. Most other filters function to physically filter water, which does not remove contaminants dissolved in the water. When water enters the metal capture filter, unwanted contaminants are oxidized and trapped inside the filter body. Activated carbon filters out dirt and potentially harmful chemicals and contaminants. When water enters the second filter, it filters out viruses, bacteria, fine sludge, oxidized metals and undissected calcium particles larger than 1 micron through a 1 micron sediment filter.
After the system was installed, a real test was performed, which was delivered in beautiful colors. No more smell, the water is also delicious. My wife said it complies with Jerry's claim that the water filtered through the Metal Trap Ultra filter system is better than any bottled water and tastes better.
Why don't you be a judge!
Happy camping
