You don't have to travel to Virginia to find an antique car museum. There are at least eight [or nine] Virginia states if you extend the definition of "car" to include tanks!]. Here is a list of all the classic cars I can find in Virginia.
Luray Caverns' Car and Carriage Caravan Museum tracks the history of transportation in the United States. Items on display include carriages, coaches, vans and early cars. The car series includes Mercedes-Benz in 1892, Beck Electric in 1908, Stanley Steam Turbine in 1913 and Rolls-Royce in Rudolf Valentino in 1925. You must purchase a Luray Caverns admission ticket to enter the museum. [540] 743-6551
The Roaring Twenties Antique Car Museum in Hood exhibited 32 vintage cars, mostly from the 1920s and 1930s. The series includes examples from Carter, Star, Stephen, Cleveland, Hupmobile, Paige, Nash, Essex, Packard and Cadillac. There are also carriages, old farm implements and advertisements during the show. [540]948-6290
The Virginia Transportation Museum in Roanoke has cars and other vehicles from almost every decade of the twentieth century. The museum focuses on the rail industry, but also the aerospace and aerospace sectors. [540]342-5670
Appomattox's Fred Car Museum has more than 65 antique cars dating back to 1906-1980. Highlights of the series include the 1906 Schacht, the 1914 Saxton, the 1920 Piano Car, the 1936 Packard and the very rare 1939 Lincoln V-12 limousine. [434]352-0606

Stewart's Wood Brothers Racing Museum has 58 years of racing history. You can check out the 1971 Pilorator Mercury Cyclone, the 1989 Neil Bonnet Thunderbird and the 1937 Glen Wood Ford coach. There are also trophies, racing suits and helmets, as well as a large number of other racing souvenirs. [276] 694-221
There are no antique cars in the AAF Tank Museum in Danville, but I can't exclude them! Their collection includes 117 tanks and artillery, as well as more than 20,000 other military-related artifacts dating back to 1509! [434] 836-5323
If you pass through Virginia or live nearby, car enthusiasts can choose from a wide variety. As always, please inform the hour and holiday schedule in advance of your trip.
