Home office video studios almost always have a small footprint. They are usually placed in spacious bedrooms that are 10 feet wide and 12 to 15 feet deep. This is about one-third of professional video studios. The legs of a typical light stand can be opened about 3 feet wide. Place two or three lights and a camera tripod in your small studio, and it's very challenging to walk around. Maximizing your space means finding creative ways to support your lighting without having to use bulky studio lighting.
Rethink your lights
Large soft light is usually the best choice for studio lighting. They produce fascinating light and soften the appearance of the shadows. Many home office video producers have turned to cheap CFL-based softbox lights, but these lights can be cumbersome and require floor space that occupies the light shelves to support them. You can get beautiful soft light from other sources, such as rice paper lanterns hanging from ceiling hooks or large floor lamps with rice paper tones. Use bright CFL bulbs in fixtures and lanterns to light up your studio without a light stand.
If your video production is primarily about shooting with a webcam at your desk, try using a desktop light with a rice paper tone. They come in a variety of sizes and stylish styles. If you are creative, you can even make your own lighting.
Keep studio lights and ditches
The grip is the person in the movie and they are responsible for setting up the support for the support light. For decades, they have invented many clever little gears for mounting lights without the use of brackets. For us, the two most useful methods proposed are the scissors mounting and mounting plate. The scissor mount is basically a standard light mounting stud with a small X-shaped bracket at the end. This bracket can be clipped to the support frame for ceilings, allowing you to hang a small light stand. The mounting plate is a small metal plate with a light mounting stud at the center. You can use simple screws to attach the board to walls, ceilings or other solid objects. The lamp can then be attached to the stud.
Scissor clamps and mounting plates are not very expensive, allowing you to safely install lights in your home office studio without using a studio lighting stand.

It is not difficult to remove a studio lighting stand from a home office setting. However, the key to good lighting for the captured video is not so obvious. You must choose the right lamp [or your color will look faded or pick a strange color cast], you must put the right lamp in the correct position.
